Join the Zanaco University Innovation Challenge a co-creation weekend that will bring together students from different local universities, with varied disciplines to explore and prototype innovations that reimagine the future of banking.

The Problem

Banks today are being challenged to rise above the ordinary, the conventional and the time-tested. To deliver banking solutions and experiences that are driven by their customers changing wants and needs; and global technological advancements, they need to meet these fast changing demands.

Powered by ZANACO’s years of experience in delivering robust and resilient banking solutions, we are seeking innovative ideas that characterize the bank of tomorrow.

How might we leverage technology for banking products and services?

How might we make money management/money use easier for the everyday individual?

How to enter the ZANACO University Innovation Challenge

To apply, please share your idea on how we can re-imagine the future of banking by filling in the form here on or before the 25th of March, 2019.

This challenge is open to current students at CBU, UNZA and Mulungushi University only.

The Opportunity

The top 100 applicants from each University will be chosen by a panel, and shall be invited to a Co-Creation Weekend at their respective schools’ main campuses where the top ideas will be explored, refined and pitched to a panel of judges by teams made up of participating students.

Prizes will be awarded for innovations that can make a business case for their innovative idea.

The ZANACO University Innovation Challenge Co-Creation weekend will be held on the 29th, 30th and 31st of March, 2019 at all three Universities’ main campuses simultaneously.

The Process

Stage 1: Application Process

Students from CBU, UNZA and Mulungushi Universities apply to take part in the competition.

Stage 2: Co-creation weekend

A 2-day hackathon held simultaneously across all three Universities.

Stage 3: Pitching

The participants will form groups and pitch their ideas to a panel of judges, and a winner from each University will be selected.

Stage 4:  Grand Prize Winner

A panel of judges will select and award an overall winner from among the three winning teams from each University.
